More Than a Teacher Sweatshirt: Embroidered Styles for Every Educator
Back-to-school season looks a little different for me this year.
Along with running Sewing From The Hart, I’m getting ready to head back into the classroom as a long-term substitute. That means school training, preparing for busy classroom days—and, yes, squeezing sewing and embroidery in between.
It also means my new Stitched for the Classroom collection feels especially personal.
When I designed the first embroidered teacher sweatshirts, I wanted something I would actually wear to school: comfortable, easy to style, and special without feeling overdone. Most importantly, I wanted embroidery.
These designs aren’t printed or made with vinyl. The lettering is stitched directly onto the sweatshirt for a classic look made to be worn again and again.
But something happened with one of my very first orders that reminded me why I love personalized products so much.
My customer didn't want hers to say Teacher.
She wanted Paraprofessional.
And I loved it.
Schools are filled with people doing important work every single day—teachers, paraprofessionals, counselors, speech professionals and so many others. Your sweatshirt should be able to represent your role.
That's why the wording on my embroidered classroom sweatshirts can be customized. Instead of choosing something mass-produced from a shelf, you can make it feel like yours.
The collection currently includes two very different looks: a soft dusty sage sweatshirt with understated tone-on-tone style and a navy sweatshirt featuring colorful embroidered lettering. Both were designed to be easy to wear with jeans, leggings and your favorite school-day sneakers.
And because I'm heading back to school myself, I know exactly what I want from a teacher sweatshirt: something comfortable enough for a long day but cute enough that I still feel put together.
Whether you're shopping for yourself, celebrating a new school position, or looking for a thoughtful teacher or paraprofessional gift, Stitched for the Classroom was created for the people behind the classrooms.
Because sometimes the best personalized pieces aren't the ones everyone else has.
They're the ones that say exactly who you are.
